Founded in 1898, Jewish Family Services (JFS) is a comprehensive non-profit human service agency that offers a continuum of services to meet the needs of individuals and families throughout Delaware. The agency’s mission reflects the desired outcomes: “to provide counseling and support services which strengthen the well-being of the individual, family & community, based on Jewish values.” To fulfill its mission, JFS provides therapy and psychiatry services; addictions services; elder care services; resettlement services; prevention education; youth advocacy and family support; and volunteer services.
With a budget of $2.9 million, the Agency effectively responds to the issues and challenges facing those in its community. Whether it is addressing the home care needs of the elderly, promoting workforce development strategies to employ the most vulnerable, reimagining ways to effectively serve teens at risk, or guiding individuals facing emotional issues, JFS touches the lives of many.
